Village of Morrice, Snow and Ice Removal Notice to Residents

PUBLIC NOTICE TO THE RESIDENTS

OF THE VILLAGE OF MORRICE

SNOW & ICE REMOVAL

The Village of Morrice would like to remind residents that Village Ordinance No. 12-05 requires owner(s) or occupant(s) to remove snow and ice from all sidewalks adjacent to or abutting upon their premises.

It is the owner(s) or occupant(s) responsibility to remove all snow and ice from the sidewalks within twenty-four (24) hours after a snow fall has ended. It is within the sole discretion of the Chief of Police and/or his designee to determine when a snowfall has “ended” in the Village of Morrice.

Failure to comply with these requirements is a violation of the Ordinance and a Municipal Civil Infraction.

WINTER PARKING

Village of Morrice Ordinance No. 16-03 stipulates NO parking or standing of motor vehicles on Village streets or municipal parking lots from November 1st of each year until April 30th of the next year, between the hours of 3:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. to accommodate the Village’s snow removal services. During this same period no person shall park or allow to stand any motor vehicle or trailer within a distance of four (4) feet measured from the edge of the improved portion of any street or alley, or within the right-of-way of any unimproved alley within the Village of Morrice.

Failure to comply with these requirements is a violation of the Ordinance and a Municipal Civil Infraction. Any vehicle or trailer found to be in violation of this Ordinance shall be subject to ticketing, towing, and/or impoundment.
