Accepting Applications: Department of Public Works (DPW) Employee

The Village of Morrice is considering hiring a full-time Department of Public Works (DPW) employee. Applicant must be able to perform a wide range of maintenance, construction, and repair tasks in support of all public works functions. Areas include streets, wastewater system, refuse, general building and equipment maintenance, and parks and grounds. Must be able to respond to work demands as needed, 24 hours a day, must be available to work some weekends and holidays on a rotating on-call basis.

Applicant must be able to establish effective working relationships and use good judgment, initiative, and resourcefulness when dealing with other employees, contractors, and the public. Must be able to work effectively under stress, changes in work priorities, and in emergencies.

Minimum Requirements for application:

  1. High School diploma or equivalent.
  2. Valid Michigan driver’s license and acceptable driving record. A valid CDL with air brake endorsement is desirable but not required.
  3. No felony record.
  4. Pass a reasonable background review.
  5. Pass drug screen.
